One Direction Win A BRIT Award After Fans Vote In Their Thousands

Thanks to you, One Direction won a BRIT Award last night!

The boys were nominated for two awards at the ceremony, hosted at London’s O2 Arena, and took home one of them.
For the third consecutive year, they were nominated for “British Group”, an award they still haven’t won. This year, the title instead went to rock duo Royal Blood.
However, the boys were up for the fan-voted “British Video” award, with the video for “You & I” making the shortlist.
Thanks to Twitter votes from Directioners, 1D’s “You & I” was announced as the best video, over fellow nominees “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran, “Uptown Funk” by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars, “Stay With Me” by Sam Smith, and “Summer” by Calvin Harris.
Unfortunately, the boys weren’t there to collect their award, meaning there were no “Oops, Harry’s in the toilet” moments. However, they did send a video message to thank fans.
In the clip, Liam says: “Hi everybody, we just want to say a massive thank you for voting for us at the BRITs.”
Of course, the boys couldn’t be there, because they’re currently taking their “On The Road Again” tour to Japan!
